Bombillas - Diffusor Straws 

Our bombillas are all made out of stainless steel and decorated with Alpaca or copper. They are handcrafted by artisans in Argentina. Bombillas are the most authentic way to drink yerba mate, but can be used for a variety of purposes.

Bombilla (pronounced bomb-bee-ya) is a metallic strainer straw used to strain out the Yerba mate leaves.  The bombilla is placed inside the mate and after hot water is poured in, the mate is sipped through the straw.  While the bombilla is linked most often to Yerba mate, it does have a variety of other uses and can be employed whenever straining is needed.  Our bombillas are all stainless steel, will not rust, and should last for years.

The slotted bombillas have a great filtration system that is easy to clean.  Stick in the dishwasher or wash by hand with a gentle brush.  

The deluxe bombilla has a screw bottom for easy cleaning.  These can also be put into the dishwasher or scrubbed gently with a brush.
